CTMC TO PRESENT FREE CREATIVE AND KID-FRIENDLY LUNCHES AND SNACKS HEALTHY COOKING DEMO
SAN MARCOS, TX – The Dietary and Nutrition Team at Central Texas Medical Center (CTMC) will present its latest free healthy cooking demonstration on August 7 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the CTMC Community Classroom. The event will help guests prepare for the upcoming school year by focusing creative and kid-friendly school lunches and snacks.
Additionally, a free glucose check and diabetes risk assessment will be held on the same day from 9 to 10 a.m. in the CTMC Main Lobby. CTMC provides this service at no cost on the first Wednesday of each month.
As part of CTMC’s practice of the CREATION Health principles, the CTMC Institute for Healthy Living (IFHL), in conjunction with CTMC’s clinical dieticians, offer a variety of dietary counseling options as well as quarterly free healthy cooking classes. From learning healthy substitutions to new and healthier ways to prepare some of your old favorites, the free, one-hour offerings have provided many participants with effective takeaways to improve their eating habits.

The hospital, which originated in 1923 as Hays County Soldiers, Sailors and Marines Memorial Hospital, was restructured in 1960. The present facility was opened at its current Wonder World Drive location in 1983.
