CTMC INVITES COMMUNITY TO PARTICIPATE IN CREATION HEALTH FITNESS CHALLENGE

Central Texas Medical Center (CTMC) will host its CREATION Health Fitness Challenge on Sunday, Nov. 10 from 9 to 11 a.m., rain or shine, at the CREATION Health Walking Trail that circles the hospital at 1301 Wonder World Drive in San Marcos.

“Whether you’re already in shape, looking for healthy options or simply considering starting a new fitness routine, the CREATION Health Fitness Challenge is a great way to become familiar with the latest in products and services for your health,” said CTMC Administrative Director of PR/Marketing Clay DeStefano.

This event will feature a one-mile fitness challenge designed for all fitness levels. There will also be door prizes, tote bags, giveaways and fitness/health-related organizations providing information and services for the community’s health needs.

Guests are encouraged to bring a large group, and each person in the largest group will win a drawstring bag and CREATION Health water bottle.

Participants in the Fitness Challenge should pre-register online by Nov. 5 at www.signmeup.com/95914. The online pre-registration fee is $15, and $20 in cash or check form will be accepted at the race. Those who register online will receive a free CREATION Health water bottle. Please note that there will be no refunds or transfers once the transaction is made. Proceeds from the CREATION Health Fitness Challenge will benefit CTMC’s new Cardiac Services Unit.

Vendors will be provided with a six-foot table that will need to be staffed for the duration of the event. Those interested in being a vendor at CTMC’s CREATION Health Fitness Challenge should call the CTMC CREATION Health Institute at (512) 753-3818.  The deadline to confirm your participation is Friday, October 25.

The present facility was opened at its current Wonder World Drive location in 1983. The CTMC staff of more than 700 employees works with more than 220 active and consulting physicians to provide quality services to patients and their families.

In addition, over 200 community members and interns from area educational institutions volunteer their services to the hospital. In 2010, 2011 and 2012, CTMC was named The Best Hospital in Hays County. CTMC also added a certified Chest Pain Center to its ER capabilities in 2011 and became an accredited Primary Stroke Center in 2013.
