ANONYMOUS DONOR PROVIDES MATCHING
FUNDS FOR TICKETS TO REMBERING CAMELOT RECEPTION
SAN MARCOS, TX – Citing a lifelong love of all things Kennedy, an anonymous donor from outside the region has pledged to provide 50 percent of the cost of admission to the upcoming Remembering Camelot Reception and Full Exhibit on Nov. 16 at the Embassy Suites San Marcos.
“I have been a fan of the Kennedy presidency since I was a child. Regrettably, I will be out of the country when the event is held, but feel as many as possible should see this,” said the donor as he made the pledge. “This amazing collection is too important to miss, and I hope my offer will provide interested individuals with the opportunity to take advantage of the event for half the cost,” he added.
The Remembering Camelot Reception and Full Exhibit on Nov. 16 will feature nearly 80 images, as well as more than 30 unique artifacts and memorabilia from the private collection of Frank Harvey of Houston. Many of the images, captured by JFK’s personal photographer, Jacques Lowe, have never been viewed by the public.
In addition, guests will enjoy a seafood buffet including oysters on the half shell, shrimp, salmon, smoked tilapia, mussels, grilled vegetables, baked brie, stuffed mushrooms, crab cakes, prime rib, sweet potatoes and regular potato bar and specialty cocktails. Keynote speakers and an opportunity to view the rarest items of Harvey’s extensive collection, including the lead car from JFK’s inaugural parade and one of his favorite sailing vessels are the highlight of the event. All funds raised from this distinctive event will support True Vineyard Ministries and its inspirational work with Rwanda’s recovery.
A unique silent auction of more than 50 items will include a variety of truly one-of-a-kind Kennedy-centric items, LBJ memorabilia and a trip for two to Rwanda personally guided by True Vineyard Founder and Executive Director, Diana Wiley.
“We have been blessed repeatedly on our journey of bringing this event to fruition,” said Wiley. “We are truly grateful to this generous donor and all the others who have helped make this very special event happen.”
Tickets to the Remembering Camelot Reception and Full Exhibit cost $250 per person, but with the matching grant will only cost $125. About True Vineyard Ministries
True Vineyard Ministries is a non-profit organization based in San Marcos, Texas that uses social business models that provide work-based solutions to poverty-stricken communities in Rwanda. They achieve this goal by reaching out to widows who were left behind in the tragic 100-day genocide in 1994, where nearly one million Rwandans were murdered. San Marcos resident Diana Wiley developed a long-term mission program with a rural hospital in Mozambique, after she was touched by a testimony from the hospital’s administrator who shared a glimpse of the HIV/AIDS epidemic with Wiley’s church. In 2005, after volunteering with the hospital for 3 years, Wiley began to learn more about the role the 1994 Genocide had played in the AIDS epidemic in Rwanda. In 2007, Wiley launched the female-based, Christ-centered ministry known as True Vineyard Ministries. One of the ways the ministry helps to suppress Rwandans’ hunger and lack of means for basic necessities is through its Handspun Hope Program, which provides resources to help women produce organically dyed yarn from the merino sheep they raise. True Vineyard also sells popular jewelry, textile accessories and other hand-made items in The Vineyard Marketplace, a fair trade African boutique that is located at 317 W.
